  Infectious diseases are one of the leading causes of mortality in our country. Prevention is not only better than cure but also very cost effective. The department of infectious diseases carries out various activities regarding prevention and control of infectious diseases.  
  Department has regular surveillance studies for hospital acquired infections.  The information gathered from surveillance report is regularly circulated to all the departments to ensure proper antibiotic usage.

» PUO  diagnosis and management.
» Other infectious diseases management.
» Infections in immunocompromised host such as those on immunosuppressive therapy, transplant patients, neutropenic patients etc.
» Paediatric infectious disease management.
» Management of HIV infected patients (Disease management, ART, counselling)
» Gujarat Perinatal HIV Transmission prevention programme.
» Diagnosis, management and prevention of hospital acquired infections.
» Surveillance of hospital acquired infections.
 
       
    Departmental Activities:  
 
» Regular meetings and educational programmes are organised for the medical and paramedical staff of the hospital.
» Mother to Child Transmission Programme.
