Sterling Hospital is the Best Hospital in the city for the year 2007,according to the The WEEK magazine ( May 6, 2007). For its annual survey of India's hospitals, The WEEK commissioned market research firm Indian Market Research Bureau (IMRB). The survey - in 15 cities, involving 1239 specialists and 609 general practitioners - ranks the best hospitals in the cities. The hospitals get marks for the quality of treatment, doctors and infrastructure among other factors.

  Mundra Port and SEZ signs MoU with Sterling AddLife
(Sterling Hospitals to set up a secondary care hospital at Mundra)
 
     
   

Sterling AddLife India Ltd today announced its alliance with the Adani Group's Mundra Port and SEZ Ltd. This initiative between Sterling AddLife and Adani Group will provide health care related impetus for the development of Mundra Port and SEZ one of the largest all-sector SEZ with a Sea port and Airport within the SEZ. This Hospital will enable Adani Group to realize its vision of making Mundra SEZ the most preferred destination for business, living and learning.

This 50 bed secondary care hospital will be set up by Sterling AddLife India Ltd. at a cost of rupees eighteen crores. The hospital will be expanded to accommodate 100 beds at a later date. This hospital will have mobile Intensive Care Unit on wheels with qualified medical and paramedical staff manning it for medical emergencies. A fully equipped state of art diagnostic laboratory and well equipped radiology department having computerized tomography (CT scan) machine with pathologist and radiologist for quick and accurate diagnosis will be operational at the hospital. Operation Theaters with advanced surgical equipments and sterile supply facility for carrying out range of surgical operations will form an important part of this hospital. The hospital will have well equipped physiotherapy section too.

This hospital will become nodal point for medi-care initiatives of Adani Foundation a charitable trust set up by the Adani family. The foundation at present is actively engaged in vaccination initiatives. On commissioning of this hospital the foundation will explore possibilities of providing prenatal and postnatal and child care facilities in and around Mundra. A Mobile Medical Van for extending primary health assistance to the villagers in and around Mundra is also being evaluated.

Mr. Sanjay Gupta, Director, MPSEZ, who signed the agreement, said "As a part of the agreement, Sterling AddLife will establish a secondary care hospital at Mundra to take care of health related needs of persons residing in and around the SEZ. The hospital will be able to extend emergency medical help by quickly ferrying medical experts or patients as we have an operational aerodrome for landing and take off of executive jets and helicopters."
